Carla Brown – I started dance at “The Dancer’s Workshop” under Kathleen Sinclair Cristofori in Yuma, Arizona. During this time I had the opportunity to perform in four Nutcracker Ballets. Two of which I held lead positions within my rolls. I then continued with “The Miss Minnie’s School of Ballet” under Minnie Wright in Roswell, New Mexico. There I had the opportunity to train in and perform multiple styles of dance such as Mexican Folk Dance, River Dancing, Swing Dancing, Broadway style, jazz, tap, and ballet. I also continued to perform in The Nutcracker Ballet taking on new rolls each year, and I had the privilege to choreograph the Arabian dance. I was privileged to have to opportunity to perform in a shortened Sleeping Beauty Ballet where I held the role of Sleeping Beauty. My choreographing and dance continued as I studied briefly at Texas Tech University and choreographed for a competitive group performance at Lubbock Christian University. I am trained through the Cecchetti Ballet style. I have passed through Professional level VI and hold a Checchetti Teacher Certification. I believe dance is about expression, passion and above all self control. My personal goal is to teach young dancers to perfect the basic steps that will allow them to perform their own passions.
